Candidate Accountability Research

This document provides a state-by-state list of where to find or who to contact to obtain state-level personal financial disclosures for political candidates and elected officials.

Select SOEI from the dropdown menu (Statement of Economic Interest)
Choose the department e.g. House of Representatives, Senate
database search for state-wide financial information, may not include explicit PFD documents

Connecticut
No online database. Requires FOIA request to Diane Buxo diane.buxo@ct.gov

Idaho
ID candidates not required to file personal financial statements, according to a phone call with the Idaho Secretary of State, +1 (208) 334 2852 from Nov. 2024.
Campaign finance search: https://sunshine.sos.idaho.gov/
PDFs do not render on firefox.
Disclosures older than 2023 require a public records request. Details listed on website.
PFD search available under Ethics Reports section
Kentucky
No online search tool. PFDs available through public records requests to residents of Kentucky only.

Maine
PFDs not required in Maine.

Public Viewer user account required. Home address required to create an account.
Candidates/filers can request to be notified when their filings are accessed. This notification includes the name and address listed on the accessor’s account.
Search for candidate, click “Economic Interest Statement” tab
Only the current year’s economic interest statement is available online
For older disclosures, send a public records request to greta.johnson@state.mn.us
Missouri
PFDs available through public records requests to helpdesk@mec.mo.gov
Specify Candidate name and filing year. Note: PFDs are a year behind in MO.
